Winston’s Collection: Shopify Website Design
Winston’s Collection is an interior design and furniture company located in Winston-Salem, NC. They specialize in lacquered and custom furniture along with hand-knotted rugs, specialty fabrics, personalized accessories, Mahjong game pieces and other vintage finds. This website was originally built on Shopify and was in need of a refresh to align with the current product offerings and overall vibe of the brand. With a wide range of product offerings, Shopify is the best platform for this e-commerce business due to the robust abilities within the platform to grow an online store.
Through their social media following on Instagram and their website, Winston’s Collection sells across the United States and offers personalized service to help clients find that perfect piece or combination of pieces to decorate their home.

Calls to Action
Every website must have a call to action and clear customer journey to drive site visitors to convert to paying customers. In this case due to the fact that some of their offerings sell so quickly via Instagram never making it to the website, I designed with the main CTAs being “Shop Online” and “Follow on Instagram.”
The secondary call to action is towards the bottom of the page driving site visitors to reach out with questions via the Contact form. They also collect emails in their footer although that isn’t their main focus as they already have a great following on Instagram.
Custom Product Page Example
Here is an example of one of their product page templates. You can see the product description along with options to choose Personalized or Not Personalized, color selection and a field to add what they would like embroidered on their bag if they choose personalized.
Shopify works so you can design product page templates and re-use across similar product categories. For each unique product requiring a similar page layout, you can use the same template over and over.
This is great for a business owner who would like to make updates to their e-commerce store on their own. All they need to know is which product template to select and the new products they add will populate accordingly.
Notice as you scroll down the product page, there is also a section for “You may also like” driving more opportunity to cross sell products.
Shopify is hands down the best option for e-commerce stores in general but also a clear winner when you have a wide range of products and any requiring customization.
