The Name Slate: Branding & Squarespace Website Design

The Name Slate is a name consulting firm located in Washington DC. This website was designed in Squarespace with the goal of creating a modern, simple and elevated brand persona for this exclusive service. It was also important to define a clear customer journey. We kept the branding simple and elegant while adding playfulness with the color palette and graphic images used throughout the site.

Deliverables on this project included:

  • Consulted on workflows-website is designed for a clear customer journey and also to easily work for the business owners when onboarding new clients

Logo Design

The primary logo in the header is typography based. This logo was designed to be used on marketing materials and also in the site footer.

Site Icon Design

Because of the font based logo, I designed a smaller site icon logo to replace the generic Squarespace square in the web address that matches the brand aesthic.

Workflow

I worked with this client to define a clear process and customer journey enabling the site to work for both the business owner and potential clients.

They offer one simple package and have a process they back up with data to authenticate the thoughtfulness of their consultative naming service. This is a key differentiator from their competition and needed to be conveyed on their services page.

A site visitor can easily purchase their service or a gift certificate that links directly to their payment processor. There is a simple intake form stored on the back end of their site that they send to new clients to start the process.

We further defined what their process will look like from start to finish on the back end to ensure they were set up for smooth sailing from the beginning.
